We're doing "final exams" in first grade. This involves reading books with each kid, one at a time. One book is on blue whales.
They are so big.
They are as big as 25 elephants. And a baby blue whale can gain up to 200 lbs a day.
Aaaaahhhhh. There is nothing scarier.
perhaps one thing scarier---a great white whale. stay away from that one.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the observations of Don't Call Me Mom make me so nostalgic for my children as little children that I can barely bear it. Ditto seeing lines of first-graders outside the MFA,H at opening time, espcially ones wearing red jumpers. Ditto sitting on my deck and hearing the voices of my young and now out-of-school next-door neighbors and their young next-door-neighbors having noisy fun in someone's pool. Just call me Moments-of-Nostalgia Mom.
