Brave Bunny is equally confused by this obviously talented artist. The ancient Egyptians only depicted one-eyed folks in profile on their painted monuments, but they tended to vary the pose, and they were not stick figures. There did not do a lot of smiles either. Perhaps, your artist is inspired by more recent sources---Picasso? sometimes it is hard even to pick out one eye in some of his cubist works, and there may have been smiles buried in there somewhere in the composition.
